My blog is going to be out of commission until after the new year, so I wish everyone a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year! Be safe and drink plenty of egg nog. I just tried something new: Sugar Cookie Egg Nog—not as good as the original egg nog, but it’ll do! :*)

30 Days of Night was an awesome vampire flick! I assume that almost everyone who loves vampires has seen it. If you haven’t, you should. I am not posting any spoilers, but I must say that the ending fell flat for me, even though I still loved the movie overall. Look at that face. Isn’t she just frighteningly ugly? I love it! :*)

Compare the two photos (above and to the right). Vampires should look the part. Black trenchcoats. Dressed in all black like Damien from THE OMEN. They should not wear frilly, lacy shirts, and act all flamboyant. They should be vicious, ugly, and blood-soaked, IMHO. They should make us afraid with their black eyes and hearts. Louis and Lestat have beautiful teeth, even though you cannot tell in that photo. But take a look at the guy above, look at those nasty looking things called teeth. Would you want him to bite you? I thought not. LOL.
Vampires should strike fear in the hearts of everyone. Even though I love both of the movies mentioned in this post, I just prefer that my vampires not resemble Prince in his video, “When Doves Cry.” See the link below.

I just wanted to wish everyone a safe and happy Halloween. I decided to leave you with a movie clip from one of my favorite horror flicks. The scene is from Stephen King’s Sleepwalker’s. Remember kiddies, NO VEGETABLES, NO DESSERT! Oh, and don’t eat too many razor-blade apples.

I have had the pleasure of conversing with and getting to know author, blogging/ writing/buddy, Jackie Kessler. She was kind enough to give me an ARC of her long awaited sequel to her breakout novel, HELL’S BELLE’S. The follow-up sequel, THE ROAD TO HELL, is a perfect follow-up to Belle’s. These are the first two novels in Mrs. Kessler’s Hell on Earth series.

TRTH continues to follow the story of the ex-succubus named Jezebel, who now goes by the name of Jesse Harris. Jesse is still dating her “White Knight”, Paul Hamilton, who has no idea that he’s dating an ex-demon, at first. She also still has her fascinating job of being a stripper.

Jesse continues to be haunted by her past—literally. She is constantly contacted by the incubus, Daun, and Lillith tries to kill her every chance she gets. Jesse just wants to leave Hell behind but her former demon cohorts just won’t leave her alone. She has a helpful Angel in her life as well. Jesse now must return to Hell in order to move on with her life.

TRTH is action-packed with too many twists and turns to mention. I loved it! Every page will keep you captivated. If you haven’t read Hell’s Belle’s, be sure to pick up a copy and then pick up a copy of The Road To Hell, coming to stores on November 6, 2007. If you don’t want to wait, you can go through Amazon. You’ll love this book—just like I do! Look for the 3rd installment in the series, HOTTER THAN HELL in stores August 2008.

Recent events in the United States have moved us to action. Violence against women is sadly, not a new phenomenon in our country or in the world, however, in the last year women of color have experienced brutal forms of violence, torture, rape and injustice which have gone unnoticed, received little to no media coverage, or a limited community response. We are responding to:

The brutal and inhumane rape, torture, and kidnapping of Megan Williams in Logan , West Virginia who was held by six assailants for a month.

Rape survivors in the Dunbar Housing Projects in West Palm Beach , Florida one of whom was forced to perform sexual acts on her own child.

A 13 year old native American girl was beaten by two white women and has since been harassed by several men yelling “white power” outside of her home.

Seven black lesbian girls attempted to stop an attacker and were later charged with aggravated assault and are facing up to 11 year prison sentences.

In a Litany of Survival, Audre Lorde writes, “When we are silent, we are still afraid. So it is better to speak remembering we were never meant to survive.”

These words shape our collective organizing to break the silence surrounding women of color’s stories of violence. We are asking for community groups, grass-root organizations, college campus students and groups, communities of faith, online communities, and individuals to join us in speaking out against violence against women of color. If we speak, we cannot be invisible.Join us and stand up to violence against women by wearing Red on October 31, 2007.

There you have it. My list goes on and on, but I was forced to narrow it to 30. I only named a few. There are classics and newer movies I like, but I could not name them all. So, what’s your favorite scary movie? You can name more than one, but please limit the number. Don’t go all crazy like I did.

Warning!!! **Contains Spoilers**

To my suprise, there were two characters from RE2 that I missed. The character Angie Ashford (young actress Sophie Vavasseur), Dr. Ashford’s daughter, and the character Jill Valentine (actress Sienna Guillory), the kick-a$$ cop who was awesome! There were, however, two characters who remained, L.J. (Mike Epps) and Carlos Olivera (Oded Fehr). As usual, Milla Jovovich stealed the show. She is my favorite, of course!

I was rather disappointed with the movie overall, especially, the ending. I suppose it left room for a 4th movie. I really hope they don’t make another one. It left too many unanswered questions for me. Like, what happened when her friends left on the helicopter? Was Alaska really that safe? Did she meet up with them? Ugh, I was disappointed, which I hated, because I loved the other 2 movies. Ah well, check it out for yourself and see what I mean. They could have done a better job, IMHO!!

We all have things that we’re afraid of, whether they be animals, the dark, lightning, the monster under your bed (yes, he’s really there!), gas prices, etc. This is why the horror genre is so hard to define because an array of things can scare different people.

Does a man in a wig scare you?
Er, well, a man in a wig may scare different people for a varied number of reasons!

Do monsters scare you?

Or, do people scare you? Alive or dead?

We all have a multitude of definitions for scary. Tell me, what scares you?
